whoislvca (b. 1999, Italy) is a media artist and designer who completed a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design at ArtEZ University of the Arts in Zwolle, followed by a Pre-Master's programme at the Design Academy Eindhoven. This year, he completed his Master's degree in Non-Linear Narrative at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK). His practice began with questions regarding perception: what we notice, how we notice it and which senses or media we use to do so. This interest led him to explore ecological issues, considering not only how we perceive the natural world, but also how things change when humans and non-human entities are treated as interdependent rather than hierarchical. In his current work, he combines the ecological and the digital, focusing on the difference between biological memory, which forgets, and computational memory, which does not. Using images, generative text and sound, he asks viewers to consider what we risk losing when permanence replaces forgetting as the default condition.
